  • Mariel Fabro

    Managing Partner, Product Development

    Mariel Fabro has 15 years of experience in medical device design and product development, focused on early-stage start-ups and breakthrough innovations in the fields of interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, vascular surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and endoscopic gastroenterology. Her technical expertise includes catheter design, deployment mechanisms, biomechanics, and rapid prototyping. She also specializes in bridging the gap from research and development to clinical adoption.

    Prior to co-founding Crossroads Medical Technologies, Mariel has held leadership positions in both Research and Development as well as Clinical Engineering. She led product development efforts as Director of Research and Development at Lindico, a boutique consulting firm servicing medical device early ventures. During her years as Director of Clinical Engineering at Guided Delivery Systems, she implemented programs and systems for pre-procedure planning, patient selection, physician training, and clinically-driven product development.

    Mariel received a B.S. and M.S. in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Her academic research includes mechanical distraction and ultrasound laser technologies for reconstructive surgery at both Stanford and UCLA. She has lectured in Stanford University's School of Engineering on medical device development. Mariel is an inventor on 13 issued patents and over 40 patents pending.

  • Andrea Quach

    Managing Partner, Clinical Research

    Andrea Quach holds a strong clinical career with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to co-founding Crossroads Medical Technologies, Andrea has worked with start-up companies on breakthrough technologies in medical devices, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She has led all aspects of clinical trial management in both the US and internationally with specific focus on Germany, UK, France, and The Netherlands. Her years of clinical management includes experience and adaptability in different corporate environments, working for both early-stage start-ups to established industry-giants such as Medtronic and Boston Scientific.

    Andrea's clinical research experience spans across different therapeutic areas, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, cardiac nuclear imaging, analgesic, oncology, women's healthcare, cardiovascular and autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, and HIV/AIDS-infectious diseases. She has held positions at Quintiles, CV Therapeutics (Gilead Sciences), EP Technologies (Boston Scientific), Guidant Cardiac Surgery, Kyphon (Medtronic), and Guided Delivery Systems. She has been successful in developing and completed several clinical trials with extended knowledge from her collaboration with Clinical Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Biostatistics, and Data Management.

    Andrea received her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis, with a focus in Neurobiology, Physiology & Behavioral Sciences.
